ePortfolios (electronic portfolios) are learning websites that document and explore a student’s best college work. An ePortfolio may include academic assignments, projects, and other achievements that demonstrate key skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication. An ePortfolio is a powerful tool students can use to showcase their talents to their future educational institutions and employers.

At South Piedmont, transfer students in the Associate in Science, Associate in Arts, Associate in Fine Arts — Visual Arts, Associate in Arts — Teacher Preparation, Associate in Science — Teacher Preparation, and Associate in Engineering are required to create an ePortfolio. However, students in all programs are encouraged to create an ePortfolio to use as a presentational tool for resumes and job interviews.

Stand Out With an ePortfolio

The ePortfolio at South Piedmont Community College serves as a pivotal opportunity for students to synthesize their learning and showcase the skills they’ve developed throughout their academic journey. This comprehensive project encourages students to integrate knowledge from their coursework, apply critical thinking, and solve real-world problems, making it a culmination of their college experience.

By working on an ePortfolio, students are able to demonstrate their ability to conduct research, collaborate with peers, and communicate effectively, while also reflecting on how their studies have prepared them for future career challenges. This experience not only solidifies their understanding of the material but also allows them to present a tangible representation of their skills and readiness to transition from academia to the workforce.

An ePortfolio is your personal digital playground, where you can creatively showcase your skills, achievements, and unique journey through college! It’s not just a resume; it’s an engaging collection of your best work, complete with reflections that tell your story and highlight your growth. Plus, sharing your ePortfolio with faculty, future employers, and friends opens doors to exciting opportunities and connections — making it a fun and invaluable tool for your academic and professional journey.
