South Piedmont is committed to providing a safe, distraction-free environment in which students can learn and employees can work.
South Piedmont partners closely with local and regional law enforcement agencies and abides by state and federal law in all of its campus safety procedures. But, campus safety is not a one-department job. It takes all of us being aware and diligent to ensure our campuses and centers are safe.
Campus Safety procedures
Here, we provide a look at our Campus Safety procedures, statistics, and notification protocols.
How to Report Crimes, Incidents, and Accidents
Students and employees should first call 911 if there is a fire, medical emergency, or situation that needs law enforcement support. After notifying 911, please call South Piedmont’s Safety Operations Center at 9999.
Classroom phones ring directly to 9999 when the handset is lifted. Office extensions required dialing 999 to reach the hotline operator.
AHERP (All Hazards Emergency Response Plan)
South Piedmont’s All Hazards Emergency Response Plan details responses for a variety of incidents that could affect our campuses and centers.
Crime Statistics
The National Campus Safety Act requires all institutions of higher education to report annual campus crime statistics. A hard copy of the statistics can be located in the Safety Operations Center in Building A.
