Employee Assistance Program

We know that there are times when life and work can be stressful. That’s why we have partnered with McLaughlin Young to provide you with an employee assistance program (EAP). An EAP is a company benefit that provides support and resources for personal or work-related issues. Best of all, this confidential service is also free for all full-time employees and their households.

Why use an EAP?

EAP helps with a range of issues, including marital problems, family concerns, stress, work-life balance, relationship troubles, depression, substance abuse, grief, elder care, and more.

What is covered?

McLaughlin Young provides full-time employees and their immediate families with unlimited access to help, referrals, and 24-hour emergency support.

How does it work?

When you call the EAP, a licensed counselor will assess your needs. They will either help you with problem-solving sessions or refer you to affordable resources for ongoing support.Access online resources, free webinars, and more by visiting www.mygroup.com (Login: spcceap, Password: guest).

Who do I contact?

For questions or information related to the EAP, please contact employment@spcc.edu or call 704.272.5330. Or contact EAP directly at 704.529.1428 or 800.633.3353.

Application Requirements

Make sure you include the following in your South Piedmont application.

Note: Most job postings close two weeks after they appear online.

Transcript Requirements

Photocopies or unofficial transcripts are sufficient for the application process. Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended will be required upon hire.

For positions requiring transcripts, unofficial transcripts from all postsecondary institutions must be submitted with the application in order to be considered. Applications submitted with transcripts that do not list the required degree awarded will not be considered.

  • Photocopies must be legible and include detailed coursework and degree completion dates if required.
  • Unofficial transcripts may be photocopies of official transcripts, transcripts stamped “Issued to Student,” printouts of coursework and degree information from an online portal, or unsealed official transcripts.

  • Official, sealed transcripts for all postsecondary coursework and degrees (not limited to highest or most recent degree) will be required upon hire.
  • Transcripts must include detailed coursework and degree(s) awarded with their dates of completion if required.
  • Only coursework from accredited institutions will be accepted.

Please have official transcripts (mailed or electronic) from all postsecondary institutions attended sent to:

Human Resources
South Piedmont Community College
PO Box 126
Polkton, NC 28135

Email: employment@spcc.edu

If transcripts were issued under another name (such as maiden name), make note on the application of other names used so that transcripts can be correctly matched to application materials.

For Former Students & Alumni

We welcome and encourage South Piedmont alumni and former students to seek employment with the College. Please note, however, that any transcripts submitted to the Office of Admissions for transfer evaluation or transcripts for coursework completed at South Piedmont are not available to the Human Resources Department without written consent from the student.

A Transcript Request Form must be completed and submitted to the Records Office in order for them to release a transcript to Human Resources. The Records Office can only release South Piedmont transcripts; transcripts submitted for transfer evaluations from other institutions must be requested directly from those institutions to be sent to South Piedmont.

To complete your application:

  • Submit a foreign transcript evaluation.
  • Contact the National Association of Credential Evaluating Service for a list of evaluation providers (you are responsible for the evaluation fee).
  • Applications with foreign transcripts will not be reviewed without this evaluation.
