Make a Difference
It’s not every day $1 can have a life-changing impact. On Saturday, May 1, 2021, Jim McAlhaney, Psychology and Religion Instructor at South Piedmont, will run his 38th full marathon in Myrtle Beach, SC. By donating $1 (or more) for every mile Jim runs, you can make an SPCC education a reality for students who otherwise could not afford it.
“As an instructor, I’ve had the opportunity to talk with many of my students who share about the personal stresses of financial hardship. I know that finances can be a barrier to achieving academic goals and I wanted to do something positive that would not only bring the need to light, but could help lessen the burden”, he said.
Jim is an avid endurance runner who began running 16 years ago. To date, he has run 37 full marathons (26.2 miles) and 21 half marathons (13.1 miles).
Make a difference and cheer Jim on by donating now!
