Through this collaboration, you can continue your education close to home while significantly reducing the cost of a four-year degree. Road2Wingate

Get on the road to Wingate from your very first day as a South Piedmont student! This program is open to all first-semester South Piedmont students, including Early College and Career and College Promise/dual enrollment students, in South Piedmont’s Arts, Science, Fine Arts, and Education transfer degree programs.

When you sign up for Road2Wingate, you’re declaring early that you intend to become a Wingate Bulldog, and when you do that, you get early access to Wingate’s facilities and resources, including athletic events, academic advising, libraries, and more. But that’s just the beginning of the benefits to being a Road2Wingate student.

As a Road2Wingate student, you’ll be guaranteed admission to Wingate University.

How Road2Wingate Works

After earning your associate degree from South Piedmont and maintaining a 2.5 GPA, you’ll be guaranteed admission to Wingate University.

As a Road2Wingate student, 100 percent of your credits from South Piedmont will transfer to Wingate.

As a Road2Wingate student, you’ll receive advising, career counseling, and financial aid assistance from both South Piedmont and Wingate. We’re all on your side, working together to help you succeed.

When you participate in Road2Wingate, you get all the benefits of being a Wingate student, even before you transfer! You can attend Wingate’s athletic events and use Wingate’s library and academic advising services – free of charge.

Perhaps best of all, after earning your associate degree from South Piedmont, you can transfer to Wingate University and pay just $2,500 per year in tuition through the Gateway to Wingate scholarship – or even less! (“Or less” means that it might not cost $2,500 for you to attend Wingate if you qualify for other financial aid.)

Gateway to Wingate

The Road2Wingate is a program you can sign up for early in your time at South Piedmont. What if you decide later on that you want to go to Wingate? That’s ok! We still offer you a pathway to continue your education at Wingate – and save tons of money.

The Gateway to Wingate scholarship is available to anyone who holds an associate degree from South Piedmont. Whether you graduated from South Piedmont last month or last decade, Gateway to Wingate is an option for you.

How Gateway to Wingate Works:

The Gateway to Wingate scholarship is open to any South Piedmont graduate so long as you maintained a 2.5 GPA.

Once you have your associate degree from South Piedmont, you can transfer to Wingate University, where their staff members will help you get on track to earn your bachelor’s degree.

With the Gateway to Wingate scholarship, your tuition at Wingate will be capped at just $2,500 per year – or less. (“Or less” means that it might not cost $2,500 for you to attend Wingate if you qualify for other financial aid.) You must commit to being a full-time student at Wingate to qualify for the scholarship.

  1. Graduate from South Piedmont with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
  2. Apply to Wingate at the beginning of the semester that you will graduate from South Piedmont. Already graduated from South Piedmont, go ahead and apply to Wingate.
  3. Have your South Piedmont and high school transcripts sent to Wingate submit a completed statement of conduct to Wingate.
  4. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  5. Once accepted to Wingate, you may be eligible for the Gateway to Wingate scholarship if you commit to full-time status. Questions? Please contact Wingate University for more information.
