Business Mastermind Group

The Small Business Center understands the value mentoring and peer-connections have on your success as an individual and business owner. To help clients and alumni continue to build and leverage their inner circle the Small Business Center has launched a Premier Business Mastermind Group.

What is a Mastermind Group?
An action-oriented structured group of entrepreneurs/business owners that are like-minded and focused on a similar goal to continue to stabilize, improve, and grow their business. It is a safe space to hone skills, share ideas, build peer connections, and gain the knowledge to help you achieve your goals.

How are the sessions structured?
Each Mastermind session includes education segments and a working discussion. Below provides an example of the format for the session. Note, each member will be required to present updates.

Who leads the Mastermind session?
Mastermind sessions are facilitated by SPCC’s lead business counselor, Sherese Duncan. Duncan is President and CEO of Effició, Incorporated, an education firm, and advisory, and has served as an advocate of entrepreneurship for over two decades providing entrepreneurial education and training for entrepreneurs, professionals, and business owners around the world. Duncan’s expertise extends to research on entrepreneurial cognition and behavior, innovative marketing, economic intelligence, and power relationships; in addition to three other business ventures. To further her contribution to intellectual rigor in entrepreneurship, Duncan is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the Luleå University of Technology in Luleå Sweden. Duncan has established herself as one of the leading and most comprehensive small business resources today that can ‘mobilize’ entrepreneurs to exceed their definition of success.

2023-2024 Mastermind Schedule
Mastermind sessions are held once a quarter on set Wednesdays from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Each session will meet in person at South Piedmont’s Tyson Center. The session dates are as follows:

  • September, 27, 2023
  • November 29, 2023
  • February 28, 2024
  • May 22, 2024
  • August 28, 2024
  • November 6, 2024

How do I become a member of this group?
This exclusive group is open to those that meet one of the two criteria below:

  • Small Business Center counseling clients that have had a minimum of three counseling sessions; OR
  • Are a graduates of the Level Up program that have engaged in one post-program counseling session within 60 days of submitting this application.

If you meet either of the criteria above, please complete an application for consideration. Applications will continue to be accepted even though the program has begun. Rolling enrollment is available with additions to the group for the November 29 session.  APPLY NOW!
