The Program Options
The Associate Degree Nursing program will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to provide safe, high-quality care. You’ll learn in a dynamic environment and develop the ability to meet the unique needs of individuals across diverse healthcare settings. Coursework focuses on areas such as effective communication, patient care, medication administration, clinical judgment, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. After completing the program, you’ll be eligible to apply for the NCLEX-RN exam and pursue opportunities in various healthcare settings.

Nurse Assistant Checklist
- Driver’s License (must be current non-expired) or DMV identification card, or
military ID card, or passport. - CPR Card (good for 2 years, must not expire before the end of class)
- Social Security Card (Signed & cannot be laminated) or employment authorization
document, or birth certificate. - Proof of one of the following:
High School diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HiSET or GED)
Current enrollment in High School Equivalency program
Current high school students, with minimum of 2.8 GPA
Current college enrollment

Important: If a student does not have a signed social security card, they CAN NOT take the North Carolina Nurse Aide exam to be certified & listed on the NC Nurse Aide Registry.
- Negative TB Skin Test (a 2-step is required for Anson County classes, 2 negative
readings, TB skin test last 1 year), or QuantiFERON Gold blood test.- Union county (1 step)

As a nursing student South Piedmont, you’ll learn from experienced nursing professionals, practice skills in our cutting-edge nursing lab, and complete your clinical training at our partner sites within Anson and Union counties.
From your very first day as a nursing student, you’ll learn much more than technical nursing skills. You’ll learn how to communicate effectively, educate your patients and their caregivers, and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team.

Real-World Preparation
This program has helped me grow and become a stronger nurse. Although the program is challenging, the instructors provide relevant and up-to-date material and safe practices to allow critical thinking and judgment calls.
