The Program Options

2 Years 66 Credit Hours
The Automotive Systems Technology degree program will prepare you to begin your career as an entry-level automotive technician. This program will provide you with the foundation you’ll need to earn ASE certifications that will position you for salary increases.

1 Year 17 Credit Hours
In the light duty diesel repair certificate program, you will learn how to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines in light-duty vehicles. You will also gain hands-on experience with systems such as fuel injection, emissions control, and electrical components.

1 Year 18 Credit Hours
In this program, high school students learn the basics of vehicle maintenance and repair, including understanding engine components, electrical systems, and safety procedures. This program will prepare you to continue your education in automotive systems.

1 Year 17 Credit Hours
In this program, high school students learn how to perform basic maintenance and repairs on diesel engines in light-duty vehicles. You will also gain hands-on experience with fuel systems, emissions controls, and diagnostics to prepare for entry-level positions in the automotive industry.

1 Year 18 Credit Hours
In this program, high school students will learn the fundamentals of vehicle maintenance and repair, including engine performance, braking systems, and electrical components. You’ll also develop practical skills through hands-on experience, preparing you for a career in the automotive industry or further education in automotive technology.

This course will help to familiarize you with the mandates and procedures required for certification as a certified North Carolina OBD II inspector-nechanic.

What’s Under Our Hood? A Quality Education.

As an Automotive Systems Technology student, you’ll learn about safety, shop procedures, and diagnostics for automotive service and repair.

You’ll put your knowledge to the test during hands-on activities in a realistic service shop setting, completing real service and repair tasks.

You’ll be prepared to earn industry certifications including Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), HVAC 609 Recover, Recycle, and Recharge, and iCaR Body, as well as North Carolina safety and emissions inspections certifications.
