Transferring After Graduation

South Piedmont has made it easier for graduates to transfer to 4-year universities by forming agreements that allow you to seamlessly transfer credits and continue your education. Below are six universities – Appalachian State, East Carolina, NC A and T, St. Andrews, UNC-Wilmington, Wingate, and Winston-Salem State –  and their eligibility requirements.

*admission contingent upon university requirements. Certain programs may be restricted.

Appalachian State University

Degrees accepted: AA, AS, and AAS

SPCC graduates with a 2.25 GPA or higher

SPCC students must take ACA 122 and get a grade of C or higher

SPCC students must commit to a full-time status and apply to Aspire before their last 2 semesters at SPCC

Access to Academic and Financial Aid advising from App State

East Carolina University

Degrees accepted: AA, AS, AFA, AE, AAS-Early Childhood, AND, AAS – Industrial Technology, AAS – Construction Management

All SPCC graduates with a 2.5 GPA or higher

Waived application fee, financial and academic advising, discounted athletic tickets, fitness center pass, access to programming and Pirate Promise Days

Students must declare their intention in their first year of college.

North Carolina A&T

Degrees accepted: AA, AS and AAS with current bilateral agreements

All SPCC graduates with a 2.0 GPA or higher with a C or better on all transferable coursework

Students must enter the program before completing 30 credits at SPCC

Bilateral agreement for Psychology

SPCC graduates with a 2.5 GPA or higher

Declare during first semester at SPCC, eligible for the Gateway to Wingate scholarship, commit to full-time status at SPCC, complete ACA 122 in the first semester of enrollment

Required advising sessions, guest passes/student ID, access to athletic events, other benefits upon completion of 30 credits at SPCC

SPCC graduates with a 2.0 GPA or higher

Declare intentions before completing 40 credits at SPCC

Access to academic advising

After completion of 44 credits of general education at SPCC, students may enroll in up to 12 credits at WSSU at SPCC tuition rates
