What is Corporate Education & Training?
Corporate Education & Training serves businesses, industries, and nonprofit organizations and government agencies with operations in Anson and Union counties, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and the specific needs of local businesses and industries. Our approach focuses on developing tailored training solutions that address the unique challenges faced by local employers. Unlike traditional education models that follow a fixed curriculum, our training is personalized. We listen to your organization to identify your specific needs and develop relevant, practical training solutions that will have an immediate impact on your workforce. Our training projects fall into two major categories: customized training and contract training.
Customized Training Projects are part of a state-funded initiative designed to develop comprehensive training plans tailored to specific business needs, typically spanning two years. These programs are highly advantageous as they offer high-quality training at little to no cost to the business. The training plan usually includes a blend of leadership, continuous improvement, safety, maintenance, and technical training.
Contract Training allows employers to invest in their own training programs, covering the associated costs. This approach is ideal for companies needing to address urgent internal needs. Such training can include upskilling a small team with the latest robotics training or addressing internal challenges through leadership development, as just two examples.

Removing Barriers. Enabling Growth.
Monroe-based Decore-Ative employs English-speaking managers but a Spanish-speaking workforce. Communication barriers were causing issues, leading Decore-Ative to reach out to South Piedmont Corporate Education & Training. Together, Decore-Ative and South Piedmont developed a Workforce Spanish course tailored to the company’s exact needs. The Decore-Ative employees showed remarkable dedication during their training, and their hard work paid off almost immediately. They began communicating more efficiently, developing stronger relationships and creating a more inclusive workplace.

It has been extremely fulfilling to work with Decore-Ative to find solutions to their training needs. We didn’t just remove communication barriers. We’ve assisted in creating an environment where employees and managers know and relate to one another better. We look forward to continuing our work with Decore-Ative.

Corporate Education & Training FAQ
Corporate Education & Training is a department within the Business & Workforce Solutions division at South Piedmont Community College. Corporate Education & Training exists to create customized training solutions that address the unique challenges our local employers facing.
Not necessarily. We can host trainings at your work site or at one of South Piedmont’s locations in Anson or Union counties. We will work with you to find the right solution.
For the employees, our programs give individuals an opportunity to build skills, advance in their careers, and gain confidence.
Businesses and industries also benefit greatly from our training programs. Many of our partners struggle to hire people with the right skill set. This is a common problem, especially as skilled technicians are aging out of the workforce, and new technological advances require updated knowledge. We conduct needs assessments and identify skills gaps to create training programs that make a difference.
After our programs, our partners report an improvement in performance, productivity, and employee satisfaction. This is particularly important in sectors such as manufacturing where being competitive is an ongoing challenge.
When employees feel valued and equipped with the right tools, their productivity and job satisfaction soar. This leads to higher retention rates and a more motivated and engaged workforce. Corporate Education & Training is here to support the workforce of our region, whether that is through state-funded initiatives, customized training or through contract training, we are focused on making a real measurable impact on your business.
