Welcome to South Piedmont Community College’s FABULOUS Marketing & Communications Division.
We are here to work with you in telling the College’s story, promoting our academic and non-credit program options, engaging with prospective students, and always presenting our very best face to the world, be that through media coverage, our website, campus signage, social media, or any of our other marketing and communications channels.
Visit our Shared Resources folder to access the College’s letterhead, Teams/Zoom backgrounds, email signatures, logos, and other brand assets.
Services our division offers include:
Media coverage
Got a great story to tell? We’ll turn it into a press release and distribute it to our media list. Most of our news releases get picked up by local news outlets, such as the Anson Express, Spectrum News, South Charlotte Weekly, or Enquirer Journal. We may also be able to help arrange for reporters to interview or come to campus to cover your event/story in person.
Social media
We oversee the College’s Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube accounts. We maintain a busy social media calendar, but we always have room for more posts. Never hesitate to share your social ideas with us!
Graphic design
We can design brochures, flyers, social media graphics, mailers – and so much more.
Branding
We maintain the College’s brand guide and are always here to answer your branding questions. If you’re outsourcing graphic design services or buying promotional materials, you must have your designs approved by Marketing. We also provide brand assets, including letterhead, email signatures, logos, and more.
Website and intranet
We maintain spcc.edu and Alli Access. While we try to be as proactive as possible in the maintenance of our digital properties, we sometimes miss things. If you notice outdated information, dead links, or any other issues with either site, please get in touch with us. We can also help create new content to reflect our ever-evolving College.
Videography
We love making videos to tell our story and promote our programs.
Newsletters
We issue regular newsletters to employees, prospective students, external stakeholders, and current students. Let us know if you have news to include!
Paid advertising
We buy a variety of advertising, from billboards to social media ads, to promote the College.
Internal Communications
We lead efforts to communicate internally, including creating and distributing the monthly employee newsletter, The Insider, and organizing Ask Us Anything sessions. We can also write letters, emails, speeches, and more.
Element 451
We utilize the College’s CRM (customer relationship management platform) to nurture leads into enrolled students and promote our programs and events.
Campus signage
We create and assist with the installation of pole banners, window clings, directional signage, and more.
Campaigns
We organize, implement, and monitor campaigns to promote programs, enrollment, and more.
Marketing & Communications FAQ
Use the Marketing request form in SNOW.
This depends on our current workload and the complexity of your request. We do try to fulfill requests as quickly as possible, usually within two weeks.
No. While Marketing created the business card template, we do not actually create your individual business cards. This is handled by the Print Shop. Please use the Print Shop request form in SNOW to order business cards.
No. Marketing & Communications handles all logo designs. This is necessary to ensure logos fit within the College’s overall branding. We will be glad to collaborate with you, but please understand that to protect our College’s brand, we cannot have multiple competing logos representing various divisions/departments/initiatives.
Send in a SNOW ticket and explain the mistake, including where it is located and what needs to be corrected.
We will work with you to determine if a new social media account is necessary. If we do decide to create a new account, you’ll be required to register it with Marketing & Communications on an annual basis and abide by our social media guidelines.
We can work with you on identifying recruitment opportunities and developing recruitment strategies.
