Starting in February, students will have more opportunities to connect with NCWorks Veteran Career Advisor/Veteran Business Services Representative, Dora C. DeVarie, U.S. Navy veteran, through regularly scheduled on-campus hours at both the Old Charlotte Highway Campus and the Polkton Campus.
DeVarie provides support specifically for student veterans and their qualifying dependents, helping them navigate available veteran services, benefits, and campus resources.
At the Old Charlotte Highway Campus, DeVarie will be set up in the Tech Commons, located on the first floor of the Main Building at 1851 South Piedmont Street in Monroe, on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, from 9 a.m. to noon.
At the Polkton Campus, she will hold sessions in the Garibaldi Building, Room 219, on the first Friday of each month, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
During these hours, DeVarie can provide guidance and information on a wide variety of veteran-related issues, including:
- Employment resources and assistance
- Resources for pursuing advanced education
- Veteran Health resources
- Housing resources
- And more!
These monthly hours give student veterans and their qualifying dependents a convenient, welcoming place to stop by, ask questions, and get support on a variety of veteran-related topics.
