South Piedmont Community College is now enrolling students in two upcoming truck driving classes, which are designed to provide an affordable, fast route to a high-paying career.
Classes enrolling now include:
Weekday Class

May 26-July 20
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
LLP Campus, Polkton
Weekend Class
Saturday & Sunday

The weekday class takes seven weeks to complete; the weekend class is 14 weeks. In just a few weeks, students will be prepared for high-paying, high-demand jobs. Lightcast, a comprehensive labor market intelligence resource, indicates continued growth nationwide for truck drivers and a national median salary of $57,450 – though individual salaries can be much higher.
The cost to complete either class is $1,101.40. Students are also responsible for costs related to their physical exam, CDL permit, and drug screen.
Multiple forms of financial assistance are available to students seeking to complete the truck driving program.
A special Open House for prospective truck driving students will take place from 3-5p.m. on May 12 at South Piedmont’s OCH Campus, Main Building room 3211. Prospective students will be able to meet the truck driving instructors, explore truck driving equipment, and learn more about the admissions process and financial aid opportunities.
Register for the open house at events.spcc.edu.
