South Piedmont Community College is partnering with E2D (Eliminate the Digital Divide) to provide refurbished laptops at no cost to eligible students, helping reduce technology barriers for students pursuing higher education.

Through the new program, 50 students will receive a refurbished laptop at no cost. The initiative is designed to uplift and empower college-bound students across North Carolina who will be the first in their families to attend a two-year or four-year college or university.

Access to reliable technology is an important part of the college experience. Students rely on computers to complete coursework, access online learning platforms, conduct research, communicate with instructors, and stay connected to campus resources. By providing students with their own laptops, E2D helps ensure that a lack of technology does not become a barrier to pursuing a college education.

The E2D program is part of a broader effort to eliminate the digital divide and expand access to educational opportunities for students who may face financial or technological barriers.

Eligible students interested in receiving a laptop can complete the E2D application online.

Apply for the E2D program.

With a limited number of laptops available, students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
