As South Piedmont and Anson County Early College look ahead to the 2026-27 academic year, they are taking a moment to celebrate the achievements of 2025-26. Those include:
- During the 2025-26 academic year, ACEC students took 821 South Piedmont courses. Of those, students passed 690 with a grade of C or higher, resulting in a pass rate of 84 percent. The course pass rate has climbed nearly 15 percent since the 2022-23 academic year.
- The 2026 ACEC graduating class included 50 students. Of those, 30 students – or 60 percent – earned their associate degree. That’s up from just 37 percent in 2022-23.
- In other signs of increasing academic achievement,18 of the 2026 graduates earned a certificate, and 12 earned both a degree and a certificate. Both measures are up considerably from 2022-23.
Vice President of Academic Affairs/Chief Academic Officer Dr. Travis Teague attributed the increased attainment to the ever-deepening partnership between ACEC and South Piedmont, and their shared commitment to serving students.
“South Piedmont is proud to partner with Anson County Schools to provide students with an opportunity to earn college credentials while completing their high school education. The achievements of Anson County Early College students demonstrate the impact of this partnership and our shared commitment to helping students build a strong foundation for future success,” he said.
Located on South Piedmont’s L.L. Polk campus in Polkton, the Early College gives students the opportunity to simultaneously earn their high school diplomas and college credit, helping them to accelerate their educational journeys while reducing the cost of higher education.
