For more than 20 years, South Piedmont Community College has been helping healthcare professionals return to the workforce with confidence through its Nurse Aide Refresher course. First offered in fall 2002, the program provides an efficient, affordable way for students across Anson, Union, and surrounding counties to update their skills and prepare for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program exam.

The seated, 40-hour course is designed to review state-mandated material while also ensuring students are current with evidence-based practices. Along the way, participants gain hands-on experience in South Piedmont’s state-of-the-art simulation labs, with the added benefit of taking their National Nurse Aid Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam on the same campus where they completed their training. This familiar setting helps reduce stress and builds confidence.

To learn more about what makes this program unique, we spoke with the Nurse Aide Nurse Jessica Bowers.
