South Piedmont Community College had a strong showing at the fall N4CSGA (North Carolina Comprehensive Community College Student Government Association) Conference. Seven students attended the event held earlier this month at Cape Fear Community College. Joining the students were Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. JJ Evans, Director of Student Life, Engagement, and Leadership Dr. Alen Doty, and Student Activities Coordinator Heather O’Leary.
Nyla White and Paxton Sutton, who proudly serve on the N4CSGA executive board, were among the students representing South Piedmont.
The conference featured sessions on financial literacy, childcare initiatives, motion making, and Robert’s Rules of Order, as well as discussions on creating a stronger sense of belonging on campus. Students had the opportunity to network with peers from across the state, share ideas, and strengthen their leadership skills.
Outside of the conference, the group explored Wilmington’s historic downtown and coastal scenery, an especially memorable experience for a couple of students who saw the ocean for the first time. The weekend was both educational and inspiring, reinforcing South Piedmont’s commitment to leadership development and student engagement.
