Construction of South Piedmont’s new Campus Store will begin in early July.
The Campus Store will be operated in partnership with Barnes & Noble College and will be located in the Main Building on the Old Charlotte Highway campus. Construction is set to begin in early July and be completed by early September. Construction will include creating shelving and a cash wrap space, as well as installation of new Campus Store graphics.
The Campus Store will occupy part of the space previously used by the library.
This collaboration with Barnes & Noble will bring a new level of convenience, service, and school spirit to our students, faculty, and staff. The Campus Store will offer everything from textbooks and course materials to school supplies and South Piedmont gear.
The Campus Store Manager is Atlas Galmish. She can be contacted at agalmish@bncollege.com. More information about the Campus Store can be found here: https://spcc.edu/student-life-resources/campusstore/.
The library will temporarily relocate to Main 3149 during the renovation, where students will continue to have access to a full range of services, including checking books in and out for both academic and recreational reading, as well as borrowing laptops.
When construction of the Campus Store is complete, the library and Campus Store will share the space once occupied solely by the library. They will be their own distinct areas with separate entrances.
According to Director of Library Services Dana Glauner:
“I am excited that students will be able to purchase spirit wear once the Campus Store opens and that the Library Learning Commons will continue services during the transition.”
