Entrepreneurs Will Learn to Beat Burnout at Free Event Hosted by South Piedmont’s Small Business Center; Register by Oct. 3

South Piedmont Community College’s Small Business Center and the Small Business Technology Development Center are offering local entrepreneurs the chance to learn about burnout – and how to beat it.

Julia Bee, a burnout strategist and author of the book Burned: How Business Owners Can Overcome Burnout and FUEL Success, will host an in-person event on Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Union County Chamber of Commerce, 903 Skyway Drive in Monroe.

The event is free and open to the public.

“Entrepreneurship is tremendously taxing on practically every level – mentally, emotionally, financially, even socially as you work to balance your relationships with your ambitions. It’s very easy to get burned out,” said South Piedmont’s Director of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Renee Hode.

“Burnout can cause significant impact no matter the stage of business — or derail it altogether. At this event, we’re providing entrepreneurs and business owners with the information and resources they need to prevent or overcome burnout, stay on track, and successfully launch, manage, or grow their business.”

Bee added:

“Burnout is a significant threat to the success of small businesses. In a recent survey of entrepreneurs, they were either sliding towards burnout or already burned out. None of them scored at manageable stress levels.

“For business owners, it isn’t a matter of if burnout will happen — it’s a matter of when. In this event, you’ll learn how to recognize, prevent, and overcome burnout so that it doesn’t burn you, and your business, to the ground.”

With more than15 years in the entrepreneurial field, Bee has solidified her reputation as a dynamic consultant, riveting speaker, and leader who sheds light on the darker side of business ownership. She has a knack for transforming businesses from the ground up. Whether it’s reshaping workplace cultures or empowering leaders, her influence proves game-changing for those who collaborate with her. Having been celebrated by Fast Company and Forbes, her work is in high demand in the industry.

Attendees of the event will learn how to understand and unpack the signs of burnout, implement effective response mechanisms, and create sustainable life-work harmony that fosters long-term success. Attendees will also receive a copy of Bee’s book.
