The South Piedmont Community College Foundation has received $2,500 from the Kiwanis Club of Monroe to fund student scholarships, bringing the organization’s total support to the College to $18,500.
The Kiwanis Club of Monroe presented the check to representatives of the College during its annual Principal & Counselors Thank You Luncheon on Feb. 29 at the Rolling Hills Country Club.
This is the 10th consecutive year that the Kiwanis Club of Monroe has given to the South Piedmont Community College Foundation.
“We are grateful for the Kiwanis Club of Monroe’s continued generosity. The Kiwanis Club is helping to remove financial barriers to higher education for our students. The Kiwanis is helping us to change students’ lives, and we are proud and thankful to call them our partner,” said Executive Director of the South Piedmont Community College Foundation Maureen Little.
The Kiwanis Club of Monroe provided the following statement:
“Supporting South Piedmont Community College through an annual donation for scholarships reinforces the Kiwanis mission to promote and create pathways for attaining education. Kiwanis of Monroe is deeply embedded in Union County, promoting character development, service in action, and helping students reach educational dreams. Kiwanis of Monroe is committed to strong educational partnerships across Union County, including supporting South Piedmont Community College through an annual donation to be used for a student scholarship. The civic/educational partnership in a community is such a tangible way to ensure students have the confidence and the resources to support reaching their educational goals.”
