On March 5, 2020, the Tyson Family Center for Technology held its grand reopening. The over 100 attendees braved the weather to see the new facility which almost tripled the size of the original building. The grand reopening ceremony feature the unveiling of a plaque in memory of Carlton Tyson, long-time friend and supporter of SPCC, a ribbon-cutting by the Union County Chamber, and self-guided tours throughout the new facility. The new space will offer more commons spaces for students, faculty & staff, as well as large classrooms and labs for HVAC, Welding, and Machining.
