Leadership Opportunities

SPCC Fall Student Leadership Development Series

SPCC provides opportunities to help students develop leadership skills, gain a better understanding of social responsibility, and broaden their worldview. Our Student Leadership Development Programs, sponsored by Student Life, Engagement & Leadership, complement academics and enhance the overall collegiate experience while building self-confidence and personal integrity that benefit you both professionally and personally. Take advantage of these leadership development programs this fall, including; Emerging Leaders, Servant Leadership, and Outdoor Leadership.

Students may sign up for as many programs as they would like. These programs are FREE to participate in, but space is limited.
  • Emerging Leaders   (Oct. 27, Nov. 3, Nov. 15)

The Emerging Leaders program is built specifically for any student to explore leadership through a lens that is likely quite different from a traditional view of leadership. The goal is for students to learn about leadership through self-reflection, team building, and leadership theory.

  • Servant Leadership (Dec. 7 half-day in the afternoon; includes a service project)

This seminar will study and examine servant leadership through the teachings of Robert Greenleaf. This seminar will also explore and practice the skills to lead others through a service project. Participants will also learn how to plan and implement a service project.

(Includes a Service Project)

  • Outdoor Leadership and Outdoor Skills  (feb. 15)

This seminar will cover the fundamental skills necessary to lead others in the outdoor setting successfully and safely. Participants will guide and participate in group team-building activities outdoors. (Outdoor Clothing is required)
