Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B Course

The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles offers several types of Commercial Driver Licenses. Class B permits you to drive any single vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, and any such vehicle towing a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating not in excess of 10,000 pounds. A Class A license is required to drive a tractor trailer.

The course includes: orientation, summary of hours, safety, accident reporting, airbrakes, pre-trip inspection, field lab straight-line backing, field lab off-set backing, field lab 90 degree backing, and behind the wheel training

The truck driving program offers extensive classroom, as well as range and road driving to prepare you for your new career! The Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) final test will be administered at the conclusion of the course.

South Piedmont has a 100% past placement rate for graduates, all placed with local businesses! There is a high demand for skilled drivers!

Cost: $1,881.00 (Tuition can be split into 3 payments)

NCDMV and Federal Motor Carrier approved trucks with conventional and cab-over trucks with trailers in various lengths.
