PRACTICAL NURSING

Program Description

The Practical Nursing Diploma curriculum prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide nursing care to children and adults.

Students will participate in assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.

Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN), which is required for practice as a licensed practical nurse (LPN).

The Practical Nursing program is moving from a Fall semester start to a Spring semester start, beginning in 2025. The Practical Nursing Program is a selective program that begins in the spring semester of each year (January Program Start). Applications will be accepted starting July 15th, 2024 and must be completed by the September 30th, 2024 deadline.   This includes the requirements for TEAS testing, CNA certification, Phase I (SPCC General Application) requirements, and transcripts.   Phase II Practical Nursing Applications are only available after completing the Information Session and Information Session Quiz (see instructions below).

Phase II applications and instructions for submission will be sent via email to the email address you provide when completing the Quiz. Please allow up to 5 business days after you complete the quiz to receive the Phase II application.
