Application & Transcript Requirements

Employment Application Requirements

Employment applications must be completed with all required supporting documents in order for an applicant to be considered for a position at South Piedmont. These requirements will be detailed in the job posting and generally include résumé/curriculum vitae, transcripts, and letter of intent/cover letter.

Evidence of meeting the minimum qualifications must be clearly stated on the application in order to be considered for employment. Meeting the minimum qualifications for a position does not guarantee an applicant will be invited for an interview. Applications that include experience most closely related to the posted job description have the best opportunity for an interview.

For most positions, the closing date is normally two weeks after the posting appears online.

International candidates must present evidence of ongoing right to work in the United States in order to be considered for hire. South Piedmont does not participate in visa sponsorships.

If you have questions about the application process, please contact the Employment Office or call:

  • Susie Trexler (part-time employment) – 704-272-5344

Transcript Requirements

Photocopies or unofficial transcripts are sufficient for the application process. Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended will be required upon hire.

Unofficial Transcripts

For positions requiring transcripts, unofficial transcripts from all postsecondary institutions must be submitted with the application in order to considered. Applications submitted with transcripts that do not list the required degree awarded will not be considered.

  • Unofficial transcripts may be photocopies of official transcripts, transcripts stamped “Issued to Student”, printouts of coursework and degree information from an online portal, or unsealed official transcripts.
  • Photocopies must be legible and include detailed coursework and degree completion dates if required.

Official Transcripts

  • Official, sealed transcripts for all postsecondary coursework and degrees (not limited to highest or most recent degree) will be required upon hire.
  • Transcripts must include detailed coursework and degree(s) awarded with their dates of completion if required.
  • Only coursework from accredited institutions will be accepted.

Please have official transcripts (mailed or electronic) from all postsecondary institutions attended sent to:

Human Resources
South Piedmont Community College
PO Box 126
Polkton, NC 28135
Email:employment@spcc.edu

If transcripts were issued under another name (such as maiden name), make note on the application of other names used so that transcripts can be correctly matched to application materials.

We welcome and encourage South Piedmont alumni and former students to seek employment with the College. Please note, however, that any transcripts submitted to the Office of Admissions for transfer evaluation or transcripts for coursework completed at South Piedmont are not available to the Human Resources Department without written consent from the student. A Transcript Request Form must be completed and submitted to the Records Office in order for them to release a transcript to Human Resources. The Records Office can only release South Piedmont transcripts; transcripts submitted for transfer evaluations from other institutions must be requested directly from those institutions to be sent to South Piedmont.

Foreign Transcripts

Applications which include a foreign transcript will not be considered complete, and therefore will not be reviewed, until a transcript evaluation is submitted. Please contact the National Association of Credential Evaluating Service (NACES) to obtain a list of members providing this service. The applicant is responsible for the fee associated with foreign transcript evaluation.

If you have questions about the transcripts requirements, please contact the Employment Office or call:
