A new arc welding simulator was installed today in South Piedmont’s state-of-the-art welding lab, thanks to the generous support of the DeMund Foundation. Chuck DeMund himself was on hand for the installation and even tried his hand on the sophisticated virtual trainer. The DeMund Foundation’s donation of the Miller LiveArc system represents a $40,000 investment in the college’s welding program and in the success of its students. The virtual trainer allows student to get instant feedback on their performance using real-life welding tasks. It represents only the most recent support the DeMund Foundation has given SPCC. Earlier this year, DeMund donated a $50,000 Fanuc robot system to the college.
