  • New students will need to complete the admissions process by clicking on the appropriate box. You are welcome to contact admissions at admissions@spcc.edu or 704-272-5338 for any questions or assistance.   
  • Your SPCC student account will be created within 48 business hours after your admissions application has been processed.
  • Check your personal email for updates from admissions@spcc.edu regarding your admission status.
  • Once you receive a final email from admissions@spcc.edu that your file is complete, you are ready to register through your SPCC provided Go! Student Portal.

Skype for Business:

  • As students, you have access to Skype through your Office 365 email. Once logged into your email and everything loads, you will see an “S” in the top right corner of your email screen, that stands for Skype. If you click on this and search one of our Advisors names (Megan Watkins or Laura Grego), you can message that advisor directly to ask questions. 
  • Virtual meetings can be on a desktop computer or a smart phone. Registration must be done on a desktop or laptop computer. Your Go! Student Portal does not work on a smart phone.  
  • Appointments can be requested through Aviso. If a virtual appointment is requested, an advisor will send a Skype link meeting request through your SPCC email.

  • Get step by step directions on how to make an online appointment through WCOline by clicking here. 
  • The Firefox browser needs to be used for online tutoring and your laptop camera and microphone should be on and available. Choose to allow, use, or share the camera and microphone in the session. You must have a camera to share audio and video. 
  • If a student does not have a camera on his/her laptop, s/he may communicate with the tutor during the tutoring session via the chat box on the platform, or by calling the ASC at 704-290-5239 to make arrangements to speak with the tutor via the phone during the tutoring session.

Payments can be made by credit card through go.spcc.edu or over the phone. Payments by check – including driver’s license and phone numbers – may be mailed to SPCC, Attn: Business Office, P.O. Box 126, Polkton, NC 28135; or a payment plan may be set up with NelNet Payment Solutions on go.spcc.edu. 

FERPA laws require that student account information may be given only to the student, with minor exceptions. Click here to complete the FERPA Release Form to give South Piedmont  permission to speak with others, as you identify on the form.

Career Services

Access the job board, listen to career podcasts, build a career portfolio, and build or update your resume by activating your account in College Central Network. 

Classes

  • All classes at South Piedmont are online with the exception of certain classes in public health and safety, trade programs, and basic skills that have been granted an exception. The section code, syllabus, and published course information will distinguish those courses. Students should consult with their instructor(s) for further information.
  • Faculty, instructors, college staff can be reached through the college directory or other contact information located on the course syllabus.

For assistance with time and stress management, South Piedmont can make referrals to community resources and short-term counseling.

  • Though the meeting is virtual, you will need to choose a location – “OCH” or “Polk”. 
  • Choose Counseling Services in response to “Know who you want to meet with?”

  • An email will be sent to you with a link for the virtual meeting.

Emergency Assistance

COVID-19 student emergency assistance may be available to students who experience cost of attendance hardships based on challenges associated with COVID-19. Award decisions will be made based on the applicant’s individual situation, and amounts awarded are subject to limitations. Applicants must state the amount requested and may be required to provide documentation to support that amount. The student is not responsible for any type of repayment for the money awarded.

Internet Access

Coronavirus information should be received only from trusted sources/websites to avoid phishing campaigns as well as bad/incorrect information and speculation that could result from visiting unreliable websites. 

  • Several Internet service providers and phone companies are providing free or reduced cost services for students to have Internet service.Please click here for a list of these providers. 
  • WiFi can be accessed from the parking lots of SPCC locations.

  • The bulk of SPCC Libraries’ resources are available 24/7 online from our library website. On the library website, you will find links to specific resource pages. Below are some links of significant importance: 
    • Course Research Guides: The library has course-specific pages that provide links to handpicked library databases to help you complete your research assignments. These guides also provide assistance with picking a research topic, evaluating websites, and helping to cite your sources. 
    • Citation Styles: This link will help you cite your sources and format your paper for APA or MLA format. 
    • Library Databases: This link will take you to an A-Z list of all the library’s online databases.

  • As a reminder, the library can help reset student passwords should you have trouble accessing your college accounts (i.e. Moodle, Go! Student Portal, Email). 
  • The library plans to be flexible with due dates for anything you have checked out.  
  • If you feel that you may be experiencing symptoms congruent with the coronavirus, please do not visit the campus to return your items. We will not charge you overdue fees.

Registration

    • Students may register through their Go! Student Portal or contact Academic Advising for a virtual or in-person advising appointment.
    • Your SPCC email account can be used as your electronic signature for any electronic college paperwork.  
  • New Students:  
    • Registration is open
    • New students will need to complete the admissions process if you have not done so already, which will enable you to register for classes.
    • Once the admissions process is completed, then you are ready to register for classes through your SPCC provided Go! Student Portal or you may contact Academic Advising for a virtual or in-person advising appointment:

Payment or payment arrangements for Fall 2020 classes may be made beginning July 6. Payment or payment arrangement must be in place no later than July 23.

Student Records and Forms

  • Student Records wants to make sure you have access to all necessary forms to include Change of Program, Course Repeat Request, Student Initiated Withdrawal, Transcript Request, and others.  Each form is available both electronically and in paper format.  Detailed instructions for using these and other electronic forms are found on the SPCC website.

Transcript Requests  

  • Official transcripts that need to be mailed/emailed to another institution or mailed to a specific address can be requested through the National Student Clearinghouse, by completing the electronic Transcript Request Form, or by completing the paper Transcript Request Form.  More detailed instructions, including payment and delivery are found on the Records page of the SPCC website. 
  • The preferred method of sending transcripts is through a secured electronic transcript provider such as National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, Scrip-safe, etc., if the institution you attended offers this option. If prompted, please have the transcript sent to admissions@spcc.edu. Otherwise, you may mail the transcript to: South Piedmont Community College, Attn. Admissions, PO Box 126, Polkton, NC 28135. 

Transcript Evaluations 

  • Student Records will continue to evaluate all college and military transcripts that are received and processed through Admissions.   
  • You will receive an email once your transcript evaluation is complete.   
  • More information about the transcript evaluation process is on the SPCC website. 

Self-quarantine is a precautionary measure that students should take if they have been or have strong reason to believe they have potentially been exposed to a contagious disease such as Coronavirus (COVID-19)Students should complete the COVID-19 Self-Quarantine Form and self-quarantine for 14 days.

Testing

Testing Centers are currently closed to the public. Beginning June 15, on-campus testing will re-open in compliance with social distancing guidelines to current and prospective South Piedmont students.  Virtual testing options are currently booked through June 11.
