Program Description

 

With accounting credentials, you will be ready to seek employment as a payroll clerk, accounts receivable clerk, or accounts payable clerk. Job responsibilities can include preparing financial statements, processing payroll, and preparing minor tax returns.

Accountants assemble, analyze, process, and communicate essential information about financial operations. The Accounting curriculum conveys this knowledge and gives students the opportunity to develop skills in accounting principles. Students study business law, finance, management, and economics as well as communications, computer applications, financial analysis, critical thinking and ethics.

Technical Standards – These technical standards have been established to inform students of the skills and standards necessary for completion of the Accounting program.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates generally qualify for entry-level accounting positions at accounting firms, manufacturers, small businesses, banks, hospitals, school systems, and government agencies.
