LOGISTICS ACADEMY

Program Description

South Piedmont’s logistics program prepares students with the skills they need to pursue careers in distribution, transportation, warehousing, trucking operations, supply chain management, and manufacturing organization. 

Graduates are prepared to work in a wide range of supply chain and logistics positions in government agencies, manufacturing, and service organizations. Graduates will find employment opportunities in distribution, planning, materials management, warehousing, inventory, transportation, trucking operations, international freight, and logistics. 

Student Experience

As part of their coursework, students will gain skills in economics and finance, transportation, warehousing, inventory control, materials handling, purchasing, computerization, supply chain operations, federal transportation and safety regulations. 

Employment Opportunities

Students may begin the Logistics program by enrolling in the three-course, non-credit pathway, which prepares them to earn select logistics credentials from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) and the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM).  With these credentials, they may enter the logistics profession.
