Program Description

This degree program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles. Instruction focuses on areas such as brake systems, electrical systems, engine performance, engine repair, suspension and steering, automatic and manual transmissions and drivetrains, and heating and air condition systems.

Courses are offered on evening and weekends at the Central Academy of Technology and Arts (CATA) in Monroe.

Technical Standards – These technical standards have been established to inform students of the skills and standards necessary for completion of the Automotive Systems Technology program

Employment Opportunities

Graduates should be prepared to take professional licensure exams, which correspond to certain programs of study, and to enter careers as entry-level technicians in the transportation industry.
