North Carolina began using the 2014 version of the High School Equivalency test (formerly referred to as GED) on January 1, 2014. There are two different testing formats used at SPCC: GED offered through Pearson Vue (computer format) and Hi-SET (paper-pencil format). Computer format testing is administered in SPCC testing centers. Paper and Pencil format testing is administered by SPCC’s Basic Skills staff. If you are interested in taking the High School Equivalency test, but feel like you may need help in preparing for the test feel free to contact SPCC’s Basic Skills Department for more information.
